Forward

Which way are you choosing to look?

And this is where the potential contribution of people who are quiet disrupters comes into its own, positively. We need their curiosity, their creativity and their convictions if we are to navigate forward well. And in the process, they will help reshape our culture, the way we do things together that will benefit everyone.

~ Sue Heatherington, from Quiet Disruptors p21

We can easily get stuck in the ruts of negativity, for example: Wanting to be right leads us to attempt to score with counter-arguments. Wanting attention leads us to take up space with our voice. If we can hold the position of being curious where our conversation partner wants to go, that flips our thinking. That flips our direction. That flips us to exploration, to wonder, and perhaps even to succeeding at communication.
